Crepescular embers
Swim so sinkingly
Into a sea of blackness.
Liberated from light,
They embrace the void
With the foul audacity
Of De Sade embracing his pen.
What men do in the dark:

Under pain of excommunication
From the bleak brotherhood
Of unreason.
